My husband Richard Liska has been battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He was diagnosed in February of 2009. He started IPT treatment last April. Unfortunately he was using a pick line for the administration of the IPT. The line became badly infected and he was care flighted to Carson Tahoe Hospital on Memorial Day. The infection had spread to his heart. He was put on a vent in CCU for eight days. Rich contracted Mersa and staff while in the hospital. He was then moved to a long term care facility where he recovered enough to be transferred back to the hospital for rehabilitation. On July 3rd he was released from the hospital. Due to the fact that he was vented in the CCU his left vocal cord was paralyzed. Rich is a musician with a band called The Comstock Cowboys from Virginia City, Nevada, he was a back up singer, sadly he will never sing again. To add to all of this he broke his back in 4 places in October and we had to move from our home. We have a small cabin in the Pinenut mountains of Nevada, it’s very remote with Solar power as our main source of electricity. Due to the fact that the cabin is located at the end of a nine mile mining road we knew we could not live there for another winter. Rich is now continuing his fight with cancer at the Nevada Center, under the care of Dr. Shallenberger. We are overwhelmed with medical bills due not only to the IPT treatments but his month and a half of hospitalization and the back injury.Any help we can get would be greatly appreciated as we are trying to get this mountain of medical debt paid.
