My Name is Karen Jones professionally I am a Registered Nurse, business owner, whole foods cooking teacher writer and artist. My life is committed to serving God and others with the talents I have been given.
My healing journey began many years ago with many challenges all preparing me to face the greatest, a diagnosis of breast cancer first in November 2002 and now a recurrence in the same side, found November 2008.
It was a clear and disturbing dream. My grand mother who had died years ago was showing me something she is point to her left breast and looking at me earnestly.
It had been at least 5 years since I had my first mammogram. When I woke up I knew what had to do
The initial diagnosis invasive ductile, carcinoma, was Estrogen/progesterone positive, HER 2 positives. The tumor was being quite big 5 cm x 6 cm and painful. I was eating very clean natural vegetarian macrobiotic diet and this helped with the pain as I determine my course of treatment.
I prayed for direction. The MD’s were recommending lumpectomy. My intuition said not enough! I knew I needed a mastectomy! Sure enough when they tested the tissue, the tumor had spread in the breast and the lumpectomy would not have been enough. With high dose chemo first followed by surgery, and complications and side effects, I was out of full time work for a year.
With the return of cancer a sequence of events unfolded and I was led to the IPT treatment. A friend of mine’s husband had cancer everywhere and was given a poor prognosis. With IPT all his cancer disappeared. I feel this is the course for me. And what initially seemed impossible everything fell into place to come to California and work with the MD’s at The Integrative Cancer Center of California, at Oceanside.
Since that time I have a new found energy, a vitality that I haven’t had in a while. As a RN and holistic educator and Blogger, I am committed to letting people know of this wonderful and powerful treatment approach.
I am half way through my treatment and though my insurance is good, between the deductible, supplement costs, co-pays and travel expenses I am in deep debt. Because of this I am short selling my home. All funds donated will be used to stabilize and heal to be of service and support for others.
I will have to go back to work so I will have to fly out every other week to finish my treatment. Any help you can give will make a great difference.
