Hello everyone, HOPE is with me!! After being misdiagnosed 4 times, I was finally diagnosed correctly, yet devastatingly, with a rare and aggressive type of breast cancer called "lobular breast carcinoma" - which is a type of "inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBS). The cancer advanced to stage IV due to the multiple misdiagnosis. This is a painful and rapidly growing cancer and unfortunately it metastasized to my lymph nodes, liver and bone. I started treatment immediately upon proper diagnosis using my owns funds in anticipation of being reimbursed for treatment. During the process I exhausted most of my funds, and worst yet, I have been denied all medical help from my insurance underwriter, Alaska Native Medical Center, the same group who misdiagnosed me. Currently I have a great team of physicians here in the Pacific Northwest and we have made progress with my blood chemistry - I know this cancer will be gone in 14 - 20 months.
I feel like my life has just begun; I have my dream job, which is owning my own Alaska Seafood company (If you want to learn more about Sugpiaq Seafood just go to the website; sugpiaq.com). I get to work close with my brother and I LOVE being near the cold Alaskan waters. I am personally enjoying learning my Native language, which gives me such excitement. I adore my family...especially my nieces and nephews. To me, they are such a True-Joy in this world. It is an odd thing to ask for help, especially when times are hard for everyone. I am so grateful for all of my family and friends so just know if you can't help, it's Ok. Know I am fighting hard, and this is a fight! Mentally and emotionally, and physically. Please pray for hope as this is a tremendous strain. : )
