 Hello, my name is Julie Berger.
I am writing to you for help. I am asking you for a tax deductible donation of whatever you can afford to help pay for a treatment that could save my life. I have been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. This means it has spread outside of the lung to the bones, some lymph nodes and a couple of spots on my liver.
I first learned about lung cancer when my friend, Jenny, was diagnosed with it on December 14, 2004. She passed away two months later, February 18, 2005, 4 days after her 44th birthday. Jenny’s death set me on a path to help as many people as I possibly could to stop smoking, since that is the number one cause of lung cancer.. In May 2005, I started a business to help people stop smoking with low-level laser therapy. This type of treatment has some of the highest success rates and I have seen hundreds of success cases personally.
I have had a lot of experience with lung cancer since then, including the death of my father from this dreaded disease. I know some people have survived, but most have not. Now, Since getting sick last July (2008) I haven’t been able to continuously work to make the money necessary to keep up with my bills and for the basic essentials of life, let alone medical expenses.
I have recently learned of a wonderful treatment I would like to try because I believe it can save my life. It is very expensive and not covered by any insurance or state aide. I am meeting with doctors regarding this treatment called IPT Therapy on Monday February 23, 2009. I have been told the cost will be approximately $5000 a week for 8 to 10 weeks, and $2500 a week for 12 to 16 weeks ($70,000 – $90,000). I would like to start the treatments, and at this time the funds are not available. The sooner I can start treatments, the better my chances. We’ve all known people with cancer and want to do something that can help. With more cancer survivors, we are all strengthened. There is a great success rate with this treatment. I want to thank
everyone for their support in this. My mother is a very devoted mother and a
loving grandmother, her grand daughters deserve to remember her just as well as
she deserves to see them grow. She is one to only care about others and not
herself now is the time for others to care for her, she needs your help. I know
my mother can beat this, she is a strong women we just need the financial help
