My name is Kathi Arnold, and I’m a three time breast cancer survivor now battling breast cancer for the fourth time. My first diagnosis was in 1982, occurring three months after my home was sprayed for roaches. My treatment consisted of a lumpectomy, followed with herbs and a four day rotation diet. At that time I was told I wouldn’t live to see my two children grow up if I didn’t follow the doctor’s recommendations. I was diagnosed again in 1985 with cancer that had metastasized to the chest wall. I underwent radiation therapy, and again relied heavily upon herbs, exercise, diet and my strong spiritual faith to heal. As a result of this cancer, and several life changing events, my children and I moved to Red River, New Mexico. In 1988 I met my husband Dirk, and together we raised the two children who were supposed to grow up without a mother. Now we have two wonderful grandsons. In 1994, after nine healthy, cancer-free years, I was diagnosed with right breast cancer for the third time. I was told by an oncologist that my prognosis was dim if I didn’t undergo chemotherapy and a mastectomy, but I opted for a lumpectomy, herbs, exercise, diet and my faith to heal. When I asked the doctor where the cancer would go if it came back after a mastectomy, I was told the liver, lungs, or both. I figured it was safer to keep it confined to the breast. Because I am “uninsurable” for cancer by any insurance company, my husband and I had to liquidate all of our assets and use credit cards to pay for the testing, diagnosis, and lumpectomy. After my third occurrence I was healthy for fourteen years. In February of 2008 I found a lump in my right breast that was initially thought to be a cyst, but it turned out to be breast cancer. Because I am very sensitive to chemicals and pharmaceuticals, conventional chemotherapy would have killed me as sure as the cancer would have, which is why I never did it in the past. But that was the only treatment option presented by the oncologist. Then I was guided to Dr. Hendrieka Fitzpatrick in Santa Fe, NM, the only doctor in the state who performs IPT. The care I have received has been amazing. Dr. “Hennie” explained the IPT treatments to me and because I had never taken chemotherapy before I was an excellent candidate for IPT. After only a few sessions the open tumor on my breast started to heal, my appetite and energy levels improved, and I actually can picture myself as a four time breast cancer survivor. Unfortunately, because I am still without medical insurance, my husband and I pay for the treatments ourselves. We have used all of our savings and are using credit cards to pay for current treatments, but we will need funds to continue the treatments. I am humbly asking for your help. Dr. Fitzpatrick has graciously offered to match your donation dollar for dollar for her services, so whatever amount you contribute to my medical fund will be worth much more in her office. Thank you for your help. Kathi Arnold
