Margie Reese Patient Assistance Fund
My name is Margie Reese. I am 62 years old. Diagnosis: left breast invasive ductal carcinoma, SBR grade 2, 1.5 cm diameter, carcinoma positive for estrogen receptor, negative for for progesterone receptor, interior, medial, and lateral margins negative for carcinoma. Two lymph nodes without evidence of metastatic carcinoma. This was May this year. I have searched four months to find the answer to treatment rather than the suggested mastectomy, conventional chemo or radiation. While I respected my excellent surgeon’s opinion, I just knew there was a treatment that could cure this cancer without surgery, radiation or the conventional chemotherapy. I am grateful to God for directing my path to IPTLD! Drs. Breitman and Winkler have been so very helpful and informative as well as personable and kind to assist in my recovery with this process. I cannot say enough about their good care and that of their staff. There is, of course, the issue of the financial dilemma. I have been physically and financially caring for my mom at home since July of 06' and have not worked during this time. She died July of 08' from CHF and Parkinson's. During those two years, I pooled all my resources into providing what she needed. When I was diagnosed in May with cancer, I was able to keep it from her until her death. My focus now is to recover from this cancer so I can return to work. On a personal note: My fiance only just arrived September 9th from Algeria and we are to marry Oct. 9th. He was a newspaper journalist for two papers in Algeria but cannot work here legally until we are married and his immigration status is changed. He has been a great support for me during this stressful time. He is very anxious to help me financially but immediately cannot. I am faced with a daunting task of paying for the treatments. Each treatment is $1200.00 + and I will need approximately nine to ten treatments depending on the response to the cancer. I am asking for your help. It is my belief that there is strength in numbers. As little as $10.00 will help if each person can spare that much. In this economy I am well aware of the finacial strain on each of you.
